"The Tallboys are a five-member old-time string band based in Seattle, Wash., featuring what they call "real homemade music." "Yeah Buddy" is a dynamic collection of traditional tunes that sounds as if it could have been recorded years ago during the so-called golden age of country music. The 16 selections range from well-known pieces like "Cumberland Gap," "Mississippi Sawyer," and "Sally Ann" to relative obscure gems like "Martha Campbell," "Road To Maysville," and "Squirrel Hunter." Bandmember Charlie Beck (banjo) offers his own composition of "Ida Mae." While the production of "Yeah Buddy" is minimal, the music of the Tallboys is first class and reflects the band's enormous talent and potential."
